for solving a hypotenuse and for finding the missing leg you need to use the formula (a2+b2=c2) you must multiply the numbers that are given by themselves then add them and then find the square root of the added numbers.

I found the shadow of the tree by finding the hypotenuse by using the same formula as before. In real life there could really be a shadow coming off a tree and you could measure it.
Parent Problem:
I asked my mom what a hypotenuse is and to give me the definition. My mom said "The longest side of a right triangle , opposite of a right angle." I had to help her on what kind of triangle it was because she didn't know it was a right triangle.
Reflections:
The pythagorean theorem was hard at first but it got a little easier after i practiced it more and more. The formula was easy to use to solve the missing leg and hypotenuse.
